Telling the truth to one another

Telling the truth to one another

One of the greatest challenges in life is to seek, find, and apply truth. Understanding the truth is a path to become a healthy, whole, and fruitful person. Aligning with the truth permits a better person in relationships to eventually emerge from within. In life people need to live in peace with others. A person is designed to be in a relationships.1 The relationships are horizontally with other fellow humans and vertically with God. These are the relationships that gives a person a freedom to be authentic. Truth is a very essential thing to be free. Telling the truth to one another is a way to build an authentic relationship.

Truth is one thing that makes us free. One of Jesus’ teachings is “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”2 No matter what is happening, telling truth to one another makes a person to be believed and build trust. That really helps to share the mission of God. The world suffers a lot, not because of the violence of bad people, but because of the silence of good people. A person is expected by God to be authentic and share the mission of God, and that creates a better world.

Honesty is the best diplomacy. Honest people can save their relationships just by being honest. Truth needs love. John piper said “There is an unloving way to speak the truth. That kind of truth-speaking we should repudiate. But there is a way to speak the truth in love, and that we should seek.”3 Life begins with being honest and by speaking the truth. A caring person shares the truth, about something for someone with love.  It is really great to share the truth with love and this needs time, intimacy and courage. People need to grab a coffee, have good communication and this needs a lot of courage. It doesn’t matter throwing the truth to someone that a person does not know or have something with. People should share the good news like the birth of a new born baby or winning a lottery ticket with people they know first, or relatives. With a caring heart one must share the truth, especially this has to be done for the mission of God. People need love, time and intimacy to get the passion and the communication one has. It should not be done with carelessness.

Great things need great courage and care. One of the greatest thing that can happen to a person is to be loved or love others. Love needs truth. Love rejoices when truth is spoken.

As the bible says in 1Corinthians 13:6 “Love is never happy when others do wrong, but it is always happy with the truth"4 Truth needs courage to be spoken. People tell lies because of fear, oppression or with carelessness but they cannot hide the truth forever. Tim Thornborough; the series editor of a book called Engaging with atheist’s said "Sometimes it has been fear that has held us back from sharing the good news about Jesus. . . . Christians have a wonderful message to tell the world.  . . Sometimes it’s because we have lacked conviction.”5 The truth gets revealed in time. A brave and courageous person always knows what to do in time. Nobody buy time by telling lies, or by zipping mouth from telling the truth since the truth has power to reveal itself.

Speaking the truth is easy, what makes it hard is speaking it with love. The most important thing in a person’s life is how the person tells the truth to others. An authentic and honest lifestyle builds the best relationships with others. The truth is worthy of following. A person needs to be brave and courageous to tell the truth. It is not easy to tell the truth. Only the brave one is able to pay the prices of telling the truth; which is so worthy of lying. Speaking the truth is all that makes a person free, and the hardest thing is to tell it with care and love. Authenticity is a way of building the best relationships.
